The Reward Is Never Lost

What is it that brings true beauty, comfort, peace, happiness, security and blessings to our lives?

It is the remembrance of Allah.
It is the nourishment of the heart and soul.

It is the moments of reflection that bring you back to your Creator.

It is the tears that gather in your eyes when you ask Allah for forgiveness, hoping that He will forgive you.

It is salah.

It is the prayers you try to maintain everyday, no matter what comes your way.

It is your love of the truth and knowing the reason for your existence – to worship your Creator.

It is the Quran.

It is the words of Allah that heals your heart when the world leaves it in pieces.

It is the message from the Creator of the heavens and earth, mountains and oceans, day and night. It is His message to you.

It is the sunnah.

It is the beautiful way of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is when we learn about his life (peace and blessings be upon him) and implement his teachings in our own lives.

If you ever feel that your heart is unhappy, reflect on yourself and the way you are living your life.

  • Are you doing things that make Allah happy and bring you closer to Him?
  • Is your heart filled with love and gratitude towards Allah?
  • Have you sincerely asked Him for forgiveness?
  • Have you wholeheartedly thanked your Creator for your blessings?

By making small changes in our lives, we can find the peace our hearts are always longing for. Change starts within, so it is important that we reflect on ourselves from time to time. We need to identify our weak spots and take some time to improve. Allah will reward you for every step you take towards Him; it may be difficult but the more you struggle, the more you will be rewarded.

Allah says in the Qur’an,

And be patient, for indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good.” {Surah Hud Verse 115}

Allah does not allow the reward of those who do good to go to waste in this world and the hereafter. Don’t worry if you seem to struggle more than everyone around you. Your reward is with Allah. If you are patient in doing good deeds and staying away from sin, Allah will bless you in this life and the next. You will earn His pleasure in this life and the next. And the day you meet your Creator, you will be so happy that you didn’t give up. You will be so thankful that Allah gave you the strength to carry on every time you thought about quitting. The struggle to become a better Muslim is a temporary one that ends when we die, but the reward of it will last forever. The reward is never lost.
