The Secrets To Overcoming Hardships (Part 2)

Troubles come and go like tides; you can do very little to channel them in the opposite direction. You can never stop them from meeting the shore of your life, but you can learn to appreciate the lessons they teach you.

Remember that tides bring beautiful shells and sea creatures from the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sand. In the darkness of the night, you won’t be able to see these treasures. But if you are patient enough to seek the light of the day, you will see them. You will see the wonders that were hidden in the darkness of the night, in the depths of the ocean.

When hardships pull you down, strengthen yourself with patience and gratitude. Be patient and know that relief is near. Allah says in the Quran,

“Indeed, Allah is with the Patient.”

{Surah Al-Baqarah verse 153}

And I know it is difficult, especially when the world seems to have turned upside down, but you must be grateful for the blessings you have in every moment. Allah has promised,

“If you are grateful, I will give you more.”

{Surah Ibrahim verse 7}

Every single one of us has something to thank Allah for. You have able to read this; you have a blessing many people in the world don’t have. If we are grateful, Allah will give us more blessings. Every single person wishes to have a life full of blessings. We don’t deserve anything from Him. Despite this, Allah is so generous that He gives us more for appreciating what we already have. Therefore, no matter how big or small the blessing is, be grateful for it and Allah will increase you in goodness.

It is difficult to face challenges in life, but you will learn so much from your experiences. The lessons you learn will be like the beautiful shells you find on the shore. Perhaps you would have never discovered them unless you endured the darkness and the tides in which they were brought to you.

You can only truly appreciate tests and trials if you look at them with the light of faith. Darkness teaches you to appreciate light. Hardships teach you to appreciate ease.

The patient do not lose hope because they expect a good reward from their Lord. You will only ever be able to endure difficulties if you have hope in Allah. Let your faith in Allah change your heart and your perspective on these trials.

Key points:

  • Remember that Allah is with the patient
  • If you are grateful, Allah will give you more
