Stay Strong

Put your trust in Allah. He knows what’s best for you. Whatever you’re going through, whether it’s a spiritual crisis or a rough day at school, know that He will help you through it. Can you count how many times He has helped you before?
If you ever feel a distance between you and Allah, the reason may be that you were the one who turned away and starting looking for happiness in other than Him. Run back to Him. Run away from sin, from evil, from the Hell-fire, from everything that destroys the peace of your heart. Run to The One who is full of Mercy, The Forgiver of sins, The Protector and The Giver of tranquility and security. There is no one more capable of rescuing you from distress than Allah. He is An-Naseer, The Helper, The One who guides and protects the believers from harm, loves them, and showers them with His mercy and gives them strength.

There’s a reason why you’re still here today, alive and breathing. There’s a reason you’re not 6ft under yet. You have a chance to fix your relationship with Allah right now. What’s stopping you?

Are we waiting for Judgement Day to suddenly come upon us? Then we would be full of regret, wishing we had repented to Allah and taken full advantage of every opportunity He gave us to come closer to Him. Everyday, we have a chance to do something that will please Allah. Your life could be running smoothly or it could be in pieces, but at anytime, you could choose to see the bright side of the situation. All you need to do is look beyond the moment and consider the life you want to live, in this world and the hereafter.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,

How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.”(Sahih Muslim)

There’s good in every situation of a believer. We should be grateful when we are blessed. Gratitude is a natural response to receiving a gift. And when we are grateful, it benefits us. In fact, psychologists have found that there are many health benefits of being grateful. In summary, it allows you to live a happier life than ungrateful people since you are less focused on everything that seems to be going wrong and more concerntrated on the positive aspects of life. Therefore, your stress levels will be much lower, allowing you to experience more positive emotions that will contribute to your well-being. Let’s see what Allah has to say about this beautiful attribute,

If you are grateful, I will surely increase you…” {Surah Ibrahim Verse 7}

The key to getting more is to be content with what Allah has already given you. There’s no need to deny all of Allah’s favours when something doesn’t go your way. Count the blessings you didn’t have to ask for.

We must think beyond the moment in order to deal with the hardships that come our way. Don’t make (irrational) permanent decisions to deal with temporary problems. You wouldn’t knock down  your whole kitchen if there was a leaky tap. In the same way, we shouldn’t damage relationships, cause harm to ourselves or anyone else (physically or mentally) when we are tested with a  small issue. Even if it’s major, we must refrain from making hasty decisions that may cause the problem to escalate. The wisdom behind patience is that it allows you to first internalise the situation before you act. Hopefully, this should give you time to think of better ways to deal with the problem in a calm manner, so that you avoid making a decision you will regret.

Whenever we face a hardship, we should remember that Allah tests the people He loves. Do you remember what happened when Prophet Ibrahim was thrown into the fire by his people? It became cool for him because Allah was taking care of him. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) trusted Allah and when you trust Allah, He will be enough for you.💗

What about Prophet Yunus, when he was deep in the belly of a whale? The chances of coming out of a giant fish alive are next to nothing, but Allah made it happen. Allah can open doors for you from where you could never imagine.💜

When you feel alone, imagine how alone Prophet Yusuf felt when his brothers betrayed him and left him in the bottom of the well. They were his family, the people he trusted. How heartbroken would you feel if this happened to you? And perhaps you have been through something similar. But know that Allah gave Yusuf (peace be upon him) so much honour that his brothers, the ones who once looked down at him, bowed down to him out of respect.💙

There is a reason behind everything. Perhaps the beautiful story of your life has just begun. Soon you will understand that things didn’t happen the way you wanted because Allah planned something better for you. And He tells us, in {Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 286}, that no soul is burdened with more than it can handle. Remember that you’re not alone when you have Allah to rely on. So stay strong, my dear. Better days will come.❤️
