No Request Too Big

“If My servants ask you about Me, I am near. I answer the call of the caller when he calls upon Me . They should, therefore, respond to Me and believe in Me so that hopefully they will be rightly guided.” {Surah Al Baqarah verse 186}

It’s beautiful how you can be so far from Allah but as soon as you start to ask about Him and start looking for the right path, you will find that He is near. There are many people were once lost and due to the mercy of Allah, they were guided to the right path after searching for the truth.💗

In the Ayah above, Allah doesn’t say that He answers the call of the righteous, pious, sinless or even the good one. He answers the dua, the supplication, of the ‘caller‘. This means that you can call upon Allah and even if you’re not the best Muslim in the world, He will surely answer your plea. Allah is Al-Mujeeb, The Responsive One, and He answers the prayers of His servants so ask Him! Do you know anyone more generous than Al-Kareem, the one who gave you life, food, drink and everything you ever needed to get you to where you are today?

When the people around us refuse to help us, we realise that it is only Allah who we can truly rely on. Shouldn’t we be grateful for all the favours He has bestowed upon us? Although we can never repay Allah for a single blessing, we should at least try to show our gratefulness by obeying Him as much as we can.

Obedience to the Creator is a sign of gratefulness because you use your blessings to demonstrate patience, humbleness and contentment with the decree of Allah.

Allah doesn’t ask much from us. Everything that He asks us to do is only for the benefit of ourselves.

Let’s take the hijab as an example. Many people perceive Muslim women as oppressed because they wear the hijab. Now, the majority of Muslim women wear the hijab out of their own will, not because they are forced by their fathers or brothers. They wear it because Allah commanded them to in the Quran (Surah al-Ahzab verse 59). They wholeheartedly submit themselves to Allah, knowing that He only wants what’s best for them.

Perhaps they have realised that the hijab protects them from the eyes of men whose hearts are diseased with lustful desires.

It allows them to go out and interact with others, not on the basis of their looks, but rather on the dignified grounds of their character and intellect.

It gives them an identity, so that when they go out, they will be recognised as a Muslim woman who is proud of her faith.

There are so many beautiful gems that can be found in the commands of Allah. In’Sha’Allah, if Allah wills, we will discover some more of these in future posts.🌺

Whenever we do anything for the sake of Allah, we should trust His infinite wisdom and be assured that He will guide us to the right path. 🌸

Things to remember:

Ask Allah

  • Be certain that He will respond to you

Obey Him

  • You want to be guided onto the right path
  • Show Him that you are grateful

Trust Him

  • Strengthen your belief in Allah
  • He hears and sees you, He will help you
  • We don’t always see the wisdom behind His plan
